8 things I love about Wild Dunes Resort

Living on James Island, an island town situated between downtown Charleston and Folly Beach, South Carolina, my fam and I almost always head to Folly for our beach days. Partly because we love its vibe. Mostly, though, because we have a 3 year old and 5 year old in the car, and love the 10-minute drive from door to boardwalk.

When I do venture to another Charleston-area beach, even if just for the day, it feels like a real trip. Earlier this season, I had the chance to spend a glorious sunny summer day on Isle of Palms, a seven-mile-long barrier island located about half an hour northeast of Charleston.
